Kuala Lumpur, July 26.
A Malaysian cricket player named Syazrul Idrus did something amazing. He took seven wickets in a T20 International cricket match against China. This is the first time a male cricketer has ever done this in the T20 World Cup Asia B Qualifier.
Idrus did a great job in the game. He got 7 wickets for only 8 runs, which is the best performance in a men’s T20I match. Because of Idrus’ amazing bowling, Malaysia won the game against China by eight wickets at Bayuemas Oval. All of the players he got out were bowled.
A 32-year-old person, who had played in 22 T20 international matches before Wednesday, achieved a new record for the best bowling in men’s T20 matches. Aho got 6 points by taking out 6 players from the Sierra Leone team in 2021.
India’s Deepak Chahar has the best bowling performance in a T20I match among all the full members of the ICC. He took 6 wickets for just 7 runs against Bangladesh in 2019, which is considered as one of the top three best performances in T20I matches. Dinesh Nakrani from Uganda also achieved the same figures against Lesotho in 2021.
Frederique Overdijk from the Netherlands has the best bowling record in T20 international matches. She took 7 wickets for just 3 runs against France in 2021, which is the best performance for both men and women.
12 bowlers had taken six-wicket hauls in a men’s T20I game before, including Chahar and another Indian player Yuzvendra Chahal, Australia player Ashton Agar, and Sri Lanka player Ajantha Mendis. However, no one had ever taken a seven-wicket haul until Idrus’ incredible performance.
China chose to bat first in the match. However, they were able to score only 23 runs in 11. 2 None of their batters were able to score in double digits. Idrus alone was responsible for taking out the entire batting line-up.
Wei Guo Lei was the player who scored the most points, with a total of 7. Six Chinese batters did not score any runs. Malaysia achieved the goal in 4. 5 overs by scoring 24 runs for the loss of 2 wickets.
The person or team who wins this competition will go on to the final round in Nepal in November. The top two teams from that round will then move on to the T20 World Cup in 2024.
