Hobart to host Ashes final pink-ball test

The Bellerive Oval (Blundstone Arena) in Hobart has been affirmed to have the fifth and last Test of the continuous Ashes series. The series finale will be the subsequent pink-ball round of the series with Adelaide planned to have the conventional Day-Night game for the subsequent Test.

It would stamp the initial occasion when the territory of Tasmania would play host to a men’s Ashes Test and the primary Test at the setting beginning around 2016. The scene change was required after Western Australia’s boundary limitations precluded the Optus Stadium in Perth from facilitating the last Test. By playing a Day-Night Test, the telecaster guaranteed the marquee challenge holds an ideal schedule opening that the western city of Perth would have ensured.

Hobart was initially planned to have the Test against Afghanistan last month, a game that must be delayed because of the political circumstance with the Taliban government’s effect on ladies’ game. Cricket Tasmania hence pushed hard to be given an Ashes Test and were supported by the state government just as the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

“We are charmed to report that Blundstone Arena in Hobart will have an Ashes Test match interestingly and thank the Tasmanian government for its help,” Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley said on Saturday (December 11).

“I might want to thank every one of the states and regions who partook in this cycle. The entries we got were extraordinary and we had presumably that every one of the scenes that participated would have facilitated a great occasion.

“There were a scope of contemplations, including business, strategic and functional variables and on the equilibrium of these, the CA board settled on Blundstone Arena being the most fitting scene to have the fifth Vodafone Men’s Ashes Test.”
